Ingredients
- 1 burrata cheese
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Optional: Calabrian chili paste for extra spiciness
- Fresh basil leaves, thinly sliced
- Sliced bread (French bread works well)
- Olive oil for brushing or spraying
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Slice the bread into thin slices to make crostini. Place the slices on a baking sheet.
- Brush or spray the bread slices with olive oil on both sides.
- Bake the bread slices in the preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes, or until they are golden and crispy. Keep an eye on them to prevent burning.
- In a small saucepan, heat the honey over medium heat until it starts to bubble.
- Add the red pepper flakes to the honey, stirring to combine. If using Calabrian chili paste, you can add it at this point as well.
- Let the honey mixture simmer for a minute or two to infuse the flavors. Remove from heat.
- Place the burrata on a serving plate. You can gently break it open if you like.
- Pour the hot honey mixture over the burrata.
- Sprinkle the sliced fresh basil over the top of the burrata.
- Serve the hot honey burrata immediately with the crostini on the side.
