Ingredients
- 1 pound of spaghetti
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 2 tablespoons butter
- Juice and zest of 1 lemon
- 1/4 cup minced fresh basil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Grated Pecorino Romano for serving
Instructions
- Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions in salted water until al dente. Reserve about 1/2 cup of pasta water before draining.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil and butter over medium heat until the butter is melted.
- Add the lemon juice and zest to the skillet and stir to combine.
- Add the cooked spaghetti to the skillet along with a splash of pasta water. Toss to coat the spaghetti evenly with the sauce, adding more pasta water if needed to loosen the sauce.
- Stir in the minced fresh basil and season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve the spaghetti hot, topped with grated Pecorino Romano.
